1231151 2011-09-15 03:48:00 Hi,
At SeniorNet we have 6 computers and all of them dual boot into Win 7 (64 bit) and XP home Premium SP3. On one of them, in Win 7 all updates install ok except SP1. Kb976932.
Any one got any clues on this? All the other 5 computers are fine with it.

1231152 2011-09-15 08:24:00 Is the update being installed Via windows updates or directly from a CD /DVD.

Had a few problems with Windows update versions, so these days I run all the updates till only SP1 is available then install it from DVD - never failed that way. Just done two today on laptops -- took just over an hour for each one :sleep Just as well I have 3 separate copies.

1231153 2011-09-15 09:54:00 It is being done by Windows auto updates. So could we download SP1 to a DVD or CD from the MS website?

1231154 2011-09-15 09:57:00 Yup (www.microsoft.com) burn the ISO to DVD. Make sure you get the right one (x64 or x86). The 2nd to last for x64 or last one for 32 bit Speedy Gonzales (78)
1231155 2011-09-15 10:23:00 If you want both versions, then go Here (www.mydigitallife.info) look for the "All in One" - thats the one I have as it contains all versions on the One dvd, and it installs the correct one automatically.

BUT it is almost 2GB in size. -- All-in-One (AIO x86, x64 and IA64): 7601.17514.101119-1850_Update_Sp_Wave1-GRMSP1.1_DVD.iso (1953.3MB)

I've had this problem since April, and after 20 attempts since then decided yesterday to try something different: finally logged on as administrator instead of a user and left it to run - took about an hour, about 80MB of download (running Windows 7 Professional).
