| 1233207 | 2011-09-23 22:00:00 | I am reloading XP but I am having great difficulty with the SP2. I have down loaded several copies and each is showing different corrupt files. I have tried to download SP1a but it needs to connect to the Microsoft site and I think this was taken down long ago, there is just no connect. I have downloaded SP3 and it goes through the extraction without problems but will not install without SP1 or 2 first. As SP1 is small, does anyone know where I can get a copy? Does some kind sole have a copy that they could PM to me? |

From Technet, where I can still get XP SP1 its 281MB (if you get really stuck) This a LONG way of doing it, you may have been better off getting a copy of XP wSP3 and save yourself a lot of time doing downloads. The actual XP Home OEM wSP3 is 578MB |

| 1233209 | 2011-09-23 22:24:00 | The sites that I have visited all point back to Microsoft. I do also have a copy of XP SP3 but that wont load without either SP1 or 2. Is there an SP3 release that will update without 1 or 2 and if so could you let me know the site? | Bryan (147) | ||
| 1233210 | 2011-09-23 22:43:00 | Nope -- SP3 requires either 1 or 2 preinstalled. The link I posted before is to SP2, the full SP package 266.0 MB. The tiny ones, of only a few MB are only installers, they are not the full packages, the installers connect back to MS to download the remainder or what parts are required, which more than likely wont work as MS no longer support it Support for Windows XP with Service Pack 2 (SP2) will end on July 13, 2010 But the link I posted still does work for the full package. |
