Links should be single click. mouse gestures defaults (help.opera.com)

1232937 2011-09-22 08:52:00 Just tried it again, only does it occasionally, mouse over comes up with "click to activate and use this control", the second click uses the control. Never had it happen with any other browsers.

Check its not Windows -- This only applies to Windows system links.

Never had it happen with any other browsers.That means you've got plugins set to not run automatically - the things you're having to multi-click on will most likely be Flash stuff.

If I remember correctly, the setting you're after is Enable On Demand Plugin (opera:config#UserPrefs|EnableOnDemandPlugin), and possibly also Enable On Demand Plugin Placeholder (opera:config#UserPrefs|EnableOnDemandPluginPlaceh older). If you click them in Opera, those links should take you directly to the settings in question.
