2011-09-20 05:48:00 | I remember reading a thread on here recently about what controls on a non-Apple keyboard do the same thing but I can't find it for the life of me. I have an iMac and installed a Microsoft ergonomic keyboard on the weekend, but I can't figure out how to copy and paste, save, etc! No problem on the wireless keyboard that came with the iMac but I can't type well on that so replaced it with the ergonomic one. Can someone please tell me how I can get it to do all those things that I need it to be able to do! Copy and paste is a pain to be without!

Edited: Go HERE (www.microsoft.com) -- Click on Keyboards - select your keyboard, select the MAC version of software - and it should allow you to do what you want. |

2011-09-20 06:04:00 | It came with a disk and I am pretty sure I used that when installing it - I think it only gave me options for the layout (US or UK). I've just put the disk back in and it's doing something so maybe I *thought* I had installed it properly! It's been working as a keyboard, just perhaps not as well as it should - I'll restart now and see what happens. | Beemer (6956) | |
2011-09-20 06:08:00 | The apple key is the equivalent to the windows key. copy and paste should be windows + c and windows + p | icow (15313) | |
2011-09-20 06:21:00 | I tried that - I've gone into the menu of the keyboard I've installed (which was in the settings menu) and under options I've ticked 'swap Windows and Alt keys' as it says that swaps the Windows and Alt keys to match the physical layout of the Command and Option keys on standard Mac keyboards, but when I press the Windows key and the C key, I get a c with a grave (or whatever it's called) underneath it! And when I try Windows and V, it gives me a tick! But it is working with Alt+Tab, which it wasn't before. Just the Windows key. I tried using Control+C but that didn't do anything. | Beemer (6956) | |
2011-09-20 06:31:00 | Have you installed any drivers or similar software? | icow (15313) | |
2011-09-20 06:59:00 | That link to drivers didn't do anything as when I opened it I was prompted to check for new versions and it said that was the latest - and it was what I already had installed. I'd do a print screen to show you the keyboard dialogue box but of course I can't paste! | Beemer (6956) | |
2011-09-20 07:03:00 | The apple key is the equivalent to the windows key. copy and paste should be windows + c and windows + p SHOULD be, but when I hold down the Windows key (just checking, it's the one with the little flag-like icon on it?) and the C key, I just get a lower case c with a bit off the bottom, and when I hold down the Windows key and the V key, it replaces it with a tick. Tried doing it with the Control key instead, but nothing at all happens then. I just realised you said Windows + p but even when I tried that, I got a Greek symbol that looks like TT!
