| 1232288 | 2011-09-20 00:27:00 | Ok, in olden days I used to just write my own CMS, but well I can't keep up. Anyway, I have been asked to create a site They must be able to post News to it Run adverts Have pages and categories Newsletter (they haven't asked for it, but its only a matter of time) and this is the one that throws me, sub-menus that only appear in certain sections, eg in the dogfood category there would be a menu to the left that had said Dry Wet Kibble Cat and pages for each of those. Normally i use wordpress for a lite CMS as the learning curve is simple and easy for people when compared to Joomla Drupal etc. Basically the people who will use it aren't overly computer literate and will probably be using/updating once or twice a month and the more heavy duty CMSs just have too many little things to remember whereas wordpress, i have found people remember things easier. basically i would love it if I could get wordpress to work with sub-menus And yes i should try the wordpress forum, BUT, in the past i found it can takes weeks to get a response, an about 70% of posts there just don't get answered, they really need to sort there forum, I am active on the zencart forum, and everything is well organised and it just works better as a forum |
