1206000 2011-06-01 02:51:00 Husband just bought another.
It's apparently very good - according to the box it's "Explosion-Proof".

Does it say how big of an explosion is can withstand?

I still love my Fenix LD40. dropped it into the sea a while ago, could see the light about 3m down on the bottom - swam down and got it, still works perfectly. :D

1206002 2011-06-01 03:27:00 If it is truly explosion proof it means that any spark from the switch will not ignite gases on the outside of the torch. PaulD (232)
1206003 2011-06-01 03:33:00 Right, that makes a whole lot more sense. Good for use in coal mines, yeah? wratterus (105)
1206004 2011-06-01 03:34:00 Good for the torch maybe, but not good for you if it happens :p Speedy Gonzales (78)

1206006 2011-06-01 03:53:00 Speaking of explosion-proof lights, I bought one of these (armytek.com) the other day - best light I've ever owned.

Note 2:40 in this video (www.youtube.com) (shows what happens when the light is shot at) - I'd consider that passing the field-test with flying colours, not every flashlight could handle that kind of abuse!

Edit: I didn't buy it for the durability (though there's no denying it's pretty bulletproof), I bought it because it's programmable, has outstanding regulation and power management, and has one of the best UIs I've ever found in a flashlight .

1206007 2011-06-01 04:20:00 What sort of bullet only knocks the light about .5m? PaulD (232)
1206008 2011-06-01 04:24:00 What sort of bullet only knocks the light about .5m?The sort that causes the light to hit the tree about .5m away. A tree like that will stop most objects the size of a flashlight, even flashlights that have just been shot at. Erayd (23)
