2011-05-30 23:01:00 | Hi All. Read an article in the Wanganui Chronicle this morning lauding faster BB. I still don't get it. Prosperity for who? The people who own/instal/charge for it? Or The People? Business? Getting data from A to B faster is good, cuts a few seconds off waiting time! Internet depelopers of programes & systems Maybe? Then what? PJ:confused:

2011-05-30 23:11:00 | It's OK, don't worry PJ, there are a lot of people who question the real-world benefits or its hypothetical uses. A lot of articles on the subject matter are just articles for the sake of getting paid I've found. Don't get me wrong, there's going to be benefits, but yeah ... ;)

2011-05-31 00:01:00 | It's OK, promise it's going to sit 90% idle, 9% will be YouTube or Facebook, and 1% will be legit ;) | Chilling_Silence (9) | |
2011-05-31 00:14:00 | My first memory of writing was in South Wales when I started school. A Slate Board, like a roof tile, & chalk. When you learnt the alphabet & basic + & -, you moved on to a knib pen & an inkwell. Today we need computers. As we all know, this makes our children better at Maths & English & Reading!!!!! Doesn't teach work ethic tho! In my time the emphasis was on the 3Rs, Reading wRiting & aRithmatics. It was all we needed in those simple times to get a job & eventually learn life & become a useful person. Well mannered & polite. Did we have bad people? Well of course we did, & crime, & drunks, & no-hopers. The percentage of them seemed less back then. Now we have classes with fanciful names, with doubtful results. I could go on but it would only give an angina. The foundation for which was laid down years ago. Too many hours at work, too much technical stress, (& probably too much beer!). Bringing up a family & all that goes with it. So...end of rant. Poppa John.

2011-05-31 00:32:00 | Some have no choice but to use dialup... Some have tiny data caps and end up with pretty slow speeds most of the time anyway... Some have DSL but are too far away from an exchange to get much speed...
