1205054 2011-05-27 03:37:00 I'm on XT at the moment and am considering changing to their smart1 plan for $40 a month (60minutes, 300 texts and 3GB data), I'd like to know what the speeds are like for data around New Zealand?

Cheers

1205055 2011-05-27 05:23:00 When I initially had my iPhone and swapped from Voda to XT, for the first two months my usage was around 1.5x, even though I was "using" it less. That was because no matter where I was, with XT, it was able to check the emails.

Do a search for the iPad Vodafone vs XT video on YouTube that Telecom put out. Those about mirror my experiences comparing my phones with my friends ;)

1205056 2011-05-27 05:39:00 Why would you want to go to an inferior network? (Setting aside the arrogant CEO's and issues Telecom have had in the past)

I'm with Telecom because it's a better network (for my needs), and I'm happy to pay for what I get.

1205057 2011-05-27 05:43:00 Around here (Motueka) Vodafone 3g coverage is next to nonexistent, and XT is excellent. Stay with XT, it is a far superior network. wratterus (105)

Mainly because I'm a poor student who managed to scrimp and save for a $1200 Galaxy S2  Now I'm broke and need a cheap plan :D

Turns out you can't upgrade the texts anyawy so I'll stick with the $38 prepaid deal I've got on telecom. Although I might be able to con mum into a data addon, (for my education and such :D)
