I totally spaced out on the Traction Control - but having a bad tone wheel obviously sending faulty or no signal will affect both the ABS and the TCM . I also believe it would goof up 4WD or AWD too if it were reading bad . I've seen tone wheels with a tooth or two knocked off - but usually the twisted pairs are damaged from road debris, errant sheep or rats chewing the delicious wires or the occasional pedestrian . FYI - the magnetic sensors get a lot of brake debris on them - no problem there - but if the brakes go metal-to-metal, then the iron shavings get caught by the magnets and mess with the digital pulses and can trip the ABS/TCM too . |

Besides, I'm smart - just ask me . So how do you relate Metric Sillymeters to Base-60 timekeeping? Huh? Riddle me that one! The steering wheel is not on the right - it is adipose . And upsidedown . |

| 1206085 | 2011-06-03 01:52:00 | I'm sure we have the same vehicle here in the States, and although it's Chevy (likely) it's also prolly a hybrid-mongrelized vehicle with some parts made in China, some in Korea, some in Japan and maybe the rest from Canada - but then again all those parts may be assembled in the US. I'd say the sheer logistics of getting parts for a GM-based vehicle may make ownership more dear and more time consuming in ordering and hoping the Great White Steamship makes it's scheduled deliveries. Time and money, in your case, go hand-in-hand; here they are inversely proportionate to each other. I dunnow for sure - but GM makes a lot of Who-Dun-It's in the auto world with questionable parentage and blood lines. Maybe there's a Holden assembly plant in ChCh or somewhere on your upturned tectonic plate. Compared to most Euro-Boxes, the GM line is more substantial in an accident and the other guy usually loses if you hit them anywhere. I say that you pay for the security of coming out on top in an accident - and that's why I drive big things that may not get terrific gas mileage (NZ= distance traveled per cubic centimeter of combustible liquid). Youse guys have a totally different driving experience there, so these cars may not be what you want or need. As such, they may likely cost more for parts or the inconvenience of larger and more frequent fill-ups. |
