| 1205680 | 2011-05-31 07:59:00 | Thanks all for the wishes. Coincidentally, today is world smokefree day. As some of you know, for the past years I had an anti-smoking mentality. However, since the commencement of my internship, I learned that it is better to offer solutions and management suggestions for smokers rather than develop a sense of hatred against them. I know that a few members here are current smokers, and I know they are fully aware of the damage each puff can potentially do to them. I also know that they are sick and tired of being told to stop smoking. In my opinion, nicotine addiction is the main reason why smokers are still, well, smokers. Today I am not here to lecture how bad smoking can be; rather, I want to use this opportunity to let you know help is always out there. If you need a kick / motivation / a goal to stop smoking, talk to the people on Quitline (0800 778 778). Not only can they offer you advice on how to get motivated to stop smoking, but they can also suggest medications to try to manage the addiction. Talking to people on Quitline is not your thing? Have a chat instead with your local GP or pharmacist. They can offer you plenty of help and advice to get moving.
