Is there a disadvantage in getting m-atx's?

1232681 2011-09-22 09:59:00 No but if you get an MATX case, things may get a bit tight. Depending on what you install in the case. Speedy Gonzales (78)

If the board has everythinhg you need then there is no disadvantage. For SLI etc ATX is the way to go usually.

Not really, less RAM slots.
Matx cases? Avoid, nasty cramped things, horrible cable management, nasty to fit things into.

1232685 2011-09-23 09:36:00 I haven't looked specifically at the boards you are talking about but chances are if there is a cheap mATX board with sli/crossfire it will have have one slot at 16x (or 8 when in sli iirc) and one a 4x whereas a full sized ATX board is more likely to offer you 2 or more full or high speed pci-e slots. icow (15313)
