1206155 2011-06-01 12:02:00 3rd party keyboard? Doesn't the Samsung come with Swype already installed?

Yea it does, along with the samsung keyboard. I saw some on the market though, wondered if they were any better.

1206156 2011-06-01 12:26:00 Swype is all you need... johcar (6283)
1206157 2011-06-01 12:34:00 I hope at the price you don't end up with a brick!! Snorkbox (15764)
1206158 2011-06-01 20:35:00 Yoicks 1200 is a bit out, and so's telecom's price. I have mates from korea who say the Galaxy S prices have been going through the floor ever since Samsung published the release date of the SGSII, meanwhile telecom are trying to push 850 :p

Ah well. I shouldn't have failed buying my 2x SGSI's. Lesson learned. You'll have fun with that.

Re android, swype is great, get used to it. it will make your life awesome. Tunes remote+ is a good app (I think thats what it's called) It uses a reconstructed DCAP profile from apple so it makes remote controlling iTunes much faster etc. Only good with itunes though.

Custom ROM's are wicked.

Beware of malware.

Winamp + wireless sync = awesome

1206159 2011-06-01 20:46:00 Swype, or I've recently begun to use SwiftKey because I've found that Swypes accuracy was diminishing over time.

The phones are damn near impossible to brick. I deliberately did a bad flash to test it out on my i9000T, just popped it back into Download Mode after it started bootlooping, re-flashed, and was away laughing. Easy.

The Defy is similar to the i9000 in a lot of ways, but more "splashproof". See here: pressf1.co.nz

1206160 2011-06-03 22:29:00 So far I've tried two different roms and settled on a pre rooted one called litening rom. The battery life in it seems quite good, I used it moderately yesterday - mostly music, games and browsing and when I started work, the battery was on 45%. Doesn't seem too bad, similar if not better than my iPhone. xyz823 (13649)

How many ~hours?

How is the sound quality?

How does it feel compared to the iphone4? Is it much lighter? Does it feel plasticey and dare I say cheapish?

Best phone on the market, no doubt.
