| 1206066 | 2011-06-01 21:36:00 | Thanks Joe. Do you reckon the orange light on the far right is the handbrake? I would have thought the red one on the left was the handbrake, most jap cars have a red handbrake light, not orange, although European cars could be different. It does look like the ABS to me, after looking at the pic ryan posted. I suppose the left hand red light could be door open, it's pretty blurred. |

| 1206067 | 2011-06-02 03:23:00 | An ORANGE light is a warning - not a failure . Remember that if the ABS defaults OFF, the system resorts back to normal brakes without ABS qualities . In other words: You are on your own to avoid skidding and sliding . RED - OTOH IS a danger warning that something has failed or that the situation is well out of hand by now . The handbrake/parking brake warning light is usually incorporated with the normal brake warning light - it will light up like I said for several reasons: 1) Low fluid 2) The parking brake is at least partially applied - some only take a single 'click' to turn the light on 3) The Pressure differential switch in the hydraulic system for both the front and rear brakes detects a substantial enough imbalance to suggest that either the front or the rear brakes are not working as they should . The ABS light can come on for numerous reasons too: 1) The ABS computer sees that one of the signals from the digital generators at each wheel (if so equipped) is not up to snuff, isn't talking at all, or has a very irregular pattern suggesting a broken tooth or missing magnetic detector - or even a broken wire . 2) The ABS servo system is gunked up from dirt or moisture in the system and it cannot 'cycle' itself during start-up and send a fault code to the ABS computer . 3) (Here's an oddball - but true reason) the driver has a very powerful stereo system with mega-Watts and the RFI is getting into the twisted pairs from the sensors and the system, confused, turns itself off 4) The vehicle is being driven on a very twisted road at high performance levels and it turns itself off with all the confusing data from the different wheels as the slide and skid around the turns (Hondas are notorious for this situation on mountain roads, when driven hard) 5) There is a pedestrian stuck under the car and ripping on the tone wheel twisted pairs of wires is the last-ditch effort he can make to tell you he's under your car . The light on the far left is so bright that I cannot see what it may be . Just to be fair - the ABS and BRAKE lights are usually clustered close together by most manufacturers nowadays . |

| 1206068 | 2011-06-02 03:37:00 | Heck - I'd buy it if all the lights were blinking and little flags were waving from the dashboard - since the car has a 210 MPH speedometer . Buy it! Sorry SJ the speedo is in KM not MPH per hour . :devil:devil |

Yeah - I thought that too - but the temp gauge also told me no . On many - I cannot say 'all' GM products (isn't a Holden a Chevy?) the gauges also swing to max at start up too, to test them for full swing . The parity test should only be seconds long and although I've tried to catch the testing in progress, I've always failed to snap the shutter (press the little button) fast enuf every time I've tried . |
