| 1232649 | 2011-09-21 06:19:00 | For the past couple days (that I've noticed), the time on my computer keeps changing. It skips forward around an hour. Yesterday I synced the clock with time.windows.com, but then today it showed 5:54pm, when the real time (after another sync) was 5:08pm. I don't think it would be the cmos battery, would it? I figure if it was the battery, then the time and date would've been reset to 0:00 at 01/01/2000 or whatever, right? The motherboard is an Asus M4N98TD - EVO, running Windows 7. I thought it could be a virus but AVG 2011 is picking anything up. Any ideas? I'll keep an eye on it in the meantime, if it does it again then I'll know if it's going forward an exact number of minutes, or if it's just random. In the clock settings, the option to notify me whenever the clock changes is enabled, but I haven't been getting any notifications. |

| 1232650 | 2011-09-21 06:23:00 | Got your regional setting correct ? Yes it could also possibly be a CMOS battery going flat, while they should out last the PC, sometimes they do go flat. OR maybe its impatient , day light saving starts this coming weekend :D |

| 1232655 | 2011-09-21 22:40:00 | Something to check/ try :2cents: -- start the PC and go into the BIOS, make sure the time/date is correct there as well. Have had it in the past the BIOS time/date is different to the actual clock time/date in the OS and its caused problems. Other than that the next thing I'd try is a new CMOS battery about $3, then rest the BIOS again correctly. |

| 1232658 | 2011-09-23 12:58:00 | ok just rebooted to ubuntu, time was correct, rebooted back into windows, time was wrong again. So it's definitly ubuntu doing it, is there a simple fix or would it be easier to just uninstall ubuntu? |
