2011-09-26 22:36:00 | Please - a request - can somebody do something about the way this forum is now almost unusable on my old computer running XP. Too jerky and unresponsive by far. Now to PhotoshopElements2. Love this program - and been well satisfied with it. Now I am trying to switch to my nice new computer but have problems. The earthquake munted my study - it was a massive mess and I had to get one of my grandchildren just to put stuff back on shelfs etc. The original installation disk is missing - perhap may turn up some day but!! I tried copying the program onto a flash card and running it from the new computer but as expected - nothing. Is there any way I can download the program off my old computer and get it running on the new one. What extra files etc will I need to carry over etc. Tom

Just what I thought may be the situation. The inst disk hasn't turned up and I doubt it ever will. And I now believe it doesn't run on Win7. Trying to buy Photoshop Elements even the latest v10 I have found virtually impossible so far. I do not really want to purshase the v10 anyway - its a bit expensive and probably far too powerful for my simple requirements. So hello GIMP I will give it a try. Tom |

2011-09-27 03:10:00 | Thomas01, I have the install disk for version 1.0.1 if you would like it, I can send it to you and just post it back when you've installed it. I don't know if it works on Win 7, but you are welcome to try it. Just PM me if you want. LL

2011-09-27 03:18:00 | It should load although you might need to play around with the memory requirements of the system - (all within Photoshop). | Bryan (147) | |
2011-09-27 03:21:00 | Try downloading magic jellybean keyfinder and running that on the old PC, it may be able to find the key. you might be able to download a trial and use that key to active it. | wratterus (105) | |
2011-09-27 03:31:00 | +1 I found a link on cnet which links to adobe. Unfortunately they took down the link. Maybe if you email adobe and make it very clear that you wont buy the new version they may be able to email you or upload a copy for you.

2011-09-27 04:01:00 | Just a thought Thomas01. If the damage was caused by the earthquake, contact your Insurer. If you haven't used up all of the insured amount of your contents they should pay for the loss not only of the computer but all of the software. Replacement cost yadeya. | Bryan (147) | |
2011-09-27 04:15:00 | And since you cant buy photoshop 2 anymore you're most likely going to get v9 or 10 (if you have replacement insurance). | icow (15313) | |
2011-09-27 04:24:00 | I'm guessing you are in Chch. I sold a Canon scanner to a client last week which came bundled with Photoshop Elements 8. As he is a graphics freak and has damn near every top notch graphics software package already, he is unlikely to need it. I have just got off the phone from him and he is happy to part with it. It should work on Win 7 fine, so if you want Elements 8 PM me and I'll get it to you - probably wont be before the weekend though. Cheers
