1207357 2011-06-06 23:34:00 100 KPH should not be treated as a target speed. 100 kph would be for perfect road and conditions.
Why is everyone in such a hurry? just chill out. The difference in time between 90 kph and 100 kph in a little country like NZ is hardly worth getting worked up for. You will take risk to life and limb to get past someone going slower only to come up behind another.
Although its a lot better than 15 years ago when there were a lot of kamakazi drivers, they were good fun though when they pulled out to do an idiot pass I would do the same thing and hang them out to dry.

1207359 2011-06-07 00:24:00 More good luck than good management i think

EDIT: Prefect there are times when there would be nothing wrong with 120kph also then if conditions are ok

1207361 2011-06-07 00:52:00 I heard this morning that some one got killed by a hit and run,but because it was in a private driveway it doesn't count????????? gradebdan (2186)

It was not on a road. But if we look at the defintion of a road which is any place to which the public has access whether as of right or not then it is a road.

Go figure?

1207363 2011-06-07 02:53:00 This may explain a lower road toll. Some idiots were not using cars apparently.

1207365 2011-06-07 04:26:00 Yeah, so is the trick to it to have such a huge level of debt, an economy in a cautious mode, and a very fine threshold on the fines? ie people are hurting too much to risk a fine?

Fines never slowed recidivists down, some idiots have accumulated well in excess of $10,000, and in the end they get them written off by the Courts.

More likely they couldn't afford to die, Funeral Directors probably don't give credit. Pay up or get the body back.

Cheers

1207366 2011-06-07 05:38:00 It's like life insurance, your insuring yourself against dying yet you don't get to spend the money you have saved. I reckon you should be able to put a time limit on it so that if say you don't die in the next 10 years you can claim it back then start all over again  gary67 (56)
