Since there's no captcha here - anyone can get access to and insert an advertisement for their scam products .

All they gotta do is sign up here and the whole world is their showroom .

1) NO confirmation required that you even exist!
2) NO security questions to root out bots .
3) NO ISP confirmation!
4) NO confirmed e-mail address .
That's how I got here, many years ago and I haven't had to be qualified or re-qualified ---- then or ever since .

I'd recommend trying to use complete sentences and conjugate verbs correctly - and PU-LEEEZ insert a verb in the sentence somewhere . Otherwise it's a tip-off . . . ya know?

@ Byroness

Please take little to no offense to snide remarks, general buffoonery and silly responses to what (to us old guys) seems (to us old guys) like a leg pull by you, when someone asks: "Is this fer real?" .

That about covers it . Oh- and if I've had my daily medications, I get quite mellow and lose my serendipitous edge - eg: Class Clown .

I miss my meds a lot (on purpose) just for that reason but it's somewhat unpredictable . Youse guys getz ta takes yer chances . :banana

1206768 2011-08-27 10:36:00 Things have changed a little bit since you've joined SJ;

1) NO confirmation required that you even exist! True

2) NO security questions to root out bots. Actually there is, on joining, you get a random question, click on 'register' up there, agree to the terms, and you should see it just below where you enter your email address.

3) NO ISP confirmation! Again, true, but you'd be hard-pressed to find a forum that does.

4) NO confirmed e-mail address. You have to confirm your email when you join by clicking a link that PressF1 sends you, I'd call that a confirmed email address. Not necessarily a legit one, though.

Is my inner pedantic showing? :D

1206769 2011-08-27 15:29:00 Well - I'm glad that I got in all that time ago on just a shoestring then.

Perhaps a better qualifier would be to have to post a scanned receipt for the jars of Marmite one has purchased in the past week as proof positive that one actually exists.

OTOH - Vegemite eaters/consumers would be looked askance.
