| 1235183 | 2011-10-03 04:41:00 | Hi Guys I am trying to download the latest Direct X runtime from Microsoft so my media player will work properly. But when I go to the Microsoft site and click on Download it comes up "Can't find server!" I wonder if its me or is their site down for the weekend ? |

I did try a few other download sites but they all linked back to the Micorosft site ! - dur. Why don't Microsoft just supply it as part of Windows 7 ? @Icow I tried your link, but that does not seem to work for me, it downloads a very small file, tries to install a whole of crappy tool bars etc and then hangs up when its insitialisng the install. |

| 1235188 | 2011-10-03 07:51:00 | Something is wrong there then. I would check the hosts file. And see if microsoft.com is blocked or something. Thats the full install not the download, you have to stay online to get the rest of it. It is installed in Win7, but this is a later version (this is DX9 I think not 11). But you can still install it in Win7, What exactly is WMP not doing? I doubt it has anything to do with DirectX | Speedy Gonzales (78) | ||
