1208313 2011-06-10 12:14:00 Would anyone know how or why a Sony Bravia LCD TV would have lines across the screen? These lines are sectioned and each section appears to duplicate and magnify the image on the screen.

The top of the screen is fine for the first 1/6th almost every 6th after that acts like a prisim repeating in the same way as the one before. Yet it doesn't go all the way across the screen.

the top part of each of the 6th's is normal but the bottom is magnified or zoomed. LCD image (farm4.static.flickr.com)

If you would like to get the idea of what Im trying to say.

1208314 2011-06-10 12:29:00 Havent seen that before. I would say its a processor gone bad. Have you tried it at different resolutions? eg play a video and see if low resolution renders the same lines hueybot3000 (3646)
1208315 2011-06-10 12:53:00 is it the cable maybe?? GameJunkie (72)
1208316 2011-06-10 22:15:00 I have a similar problem but it is vertical.

Mine however seems to be on the "outer" screen and the picture is fine behind. I have been told it is something I need to live with.

Is your problem on the outer screen or on the inner?

1208317 2011-06-10 22:59:00 Time to dig out the guarantee papers. They change models so quickly it is doubtful that a repair would be a viable option. CliveM (6007)

Reply: I wondered about this, but it is more like a convergence issue. Its not a display function per'say... but almost a render issue as it is across all input type's. TV - AV1 - AV2 - HDMI and PC

is it the cable maybe??

Reply: Even disconnected from input source's the lines persist.

Reply: I would have to say a screen issue? The very top layer is perfect below this is like stacking 5 of those magnifying tools side by side.

1208319 2011-06-11 10:09:00 a KLV40X200A would have to be out of warranty unless you purchased an extended one,
You could try the CGA.

It may not be a screen problem, It sounds more like a component or processor issue. If it is the screen it's cheaper to replace it then to repair it.

CGA? I do not know what this means?

I think it is a component - It reminds me of the convergence chips in the Rear Projection Screens.

1208322 2011-06-12 00:39:00 I haven't seen that before either, either a fault or you have somehow ended up with it trying to display an incompatible signal. Agent_24 (57)
