1208008 2011-06-09 10:21:00 Oh, that will explain why Watties have moved their caning (canning?) operation back to the Hawkes Bay - coz they don't want the Aussies all farting out methane from a feed of baked beans.

Lets see, will they apply a carbon tax to our beans as they are imported into Aus, on the basis that it's the beans that cause the methane, not the Aussies that eat them.

I hope the bullets do not contain lead and the lead pollutes the water table.

1208010 2011-06-09 10:38:00 No doubt about the Aussies, they’re competitive, even when it comes to stupidity. ;)

The only difference is the Aussies outside Parliament aren’t scared to savage their politicians and I’m picking the Gillard outfit will disappear of the radar shortly.

However, their problem is the same as ours where the opposition isn’t flash either, but, to be fair, Abbott isn’t as goofy as Goff.

Anyway, the 12 degrees in Brisbane today might change a few minds about Global Warming.

1208011 2011-06-09 15:00:00 The Gillard Government is dead meat, and will be gone by the next election if their coalition arrangement with a ragtag group of independents doesn't fail sooner.

Tony Abbott, the opposition leader who is affectionately known as the mad monk, because he initially trained as a priest, is in fact a very astute and well educated man, a Rhodes Scholar, which is an award that one gets by being outstanding rather than pedestrian.

Unfortunately, the Liberal/National suffers from having a number of individuals who are too ambitious for their capabilities and political skills, and this could detract from the landslide success that the opposition deserve.

The Howard Government cleared immense debt created by the former Labour government, and managed Australia through a period of tremendous prosperity, just to see it all thrown away in 4 short years by the Rudd and Gillard Labour administrations.

1208015 2011-06-12 07:59:00 The reason Australia is economically doing well is in spite of the Gillard Labour Governmentnot because of it.

They are an unmitigated political disaster.

Very few politicians ever get the message:
" the government has no money, it is the people's money

Still, I think Gillard does your hair nicely!
