It makes you wonder if the 2600 people who didn't reapply should have been on it in the first place.

1207699 2011-06-08 03:06:00 Most likely they gave up on NZ and went to Aus..... Metla (12)
1207700 2011-06-08 04:00:00 More than 1400 of those said they had found work, more than 2600 didn't complete a reapplication and more than 1000 were no longer eligible.

And what about the new 5000 real estate agents now looking for work??

Well they should be able to survive !! having ripped off the general public during the property boom, now it's bust for them almost.

House prices are still far too high.

I have extended family who do Real Estate. A couple of them are no longer selling houses, but doing other things in the general "Real Estate" area, such as looking after rental properties / inspections, things like that.

I think it's the Agencies that rip people off rather than those individual (on the field) agents. How much commission do they actually get for selling a house, anyone here knows?

We have a Real Estate Consultant here in our a/h of Christchurch area, who seems to do very well, I can't find his flyers to see what his charges are.

Since the 6.3 quake he has done a great job looking after the area, had washing machines in his garage for free usage, also arranged much the same thing at the Aranui Primary School, ( he is of course the Community Councilor for this area).

This man would be the exception in respect of wealth.

Err... if you don't know how much $$ they get, how can you possibly make that assertion?
