Ah no. Not for Pro car thieves. It's negated very close to were it was stolen. I'm obviously not going to say how its done, but ridiculously easy. The tracking device itself isnt touched .

I can only think of two feasible methods: Bring a cellphone jammer to the heist.
Turn the entire car into a Faraday cage.

Both easy. I can buy a several-watt jammer for around $200 USD. Faraday cage can be achieved with fine wire mesh stapled to 2x4's.

Edit, I can also get weak GPS signal jammers for around $50, not too hard to give them a little extra juice.

Edit, I can also get weak GPS signal jammers for around $50, not too hard to give them a little extra juice. Which is why I intend to use a smartphone, that way it can still figure out where it is even if GPS is unavailable.
