| 1207903 | 2011-06-09 01:30:00 | Why not. We have special laws & holidays covering European based non-existent beings usual double standards here I'd be happy if this stops the wasted $$ being poured into a new PASSENGER rail systems. Just stick everyone on buses, they are cheaper to buy & can use existing roads. Perhaps there was a good reason all the old inner city tram line were pulled up not that long ago. But. Some older trams have just been offloaded in Auckland and they are thinking about running them up Queen St to Ponsonby and also to St Heliers. :) |

We have special laws & holidays covering European based non-existent beings usual double standards here They are a relic of a bygone era, I doubt in our current climate we could get a day off work for a fairy tale about the dead rising. That said, I'd like to see all our public holidays re-badged to reflect NZ (all of NZ), I'd accept a Taniwha long weekend.... |

| 1207912 | 2011-06-09 09:16:00 | In 2002, the Environment Court - in a ruling on Taukere, the Northland taniwha - said it respected the rights of people to believe in spiritual, metaphysical taniwha, but the court was part of a secular state. The Resource Management Act required it to consider the well-being of physical people. If it gets as far as the courts, reality will prevail |
