2011-10-01 21:29:00 | No. Thank you! Picture quality is never going to be better than a PC monitor (TV is low resolution) but for DVDs or gaming it would be fine. How about Netflx and other online TV's, should be allright?

2011-10-01 21:32:00 | *NOTE*: Make sure your VGA card has TV-Out function capability. Yes I assumed he could read, and work that out for himself, Agent_24:groan: Notechyet, there is a component (red/green/blue sockets) connection there (AV3), but you're already using it, looks like AV2 is what you'll have to go with. Check whether your laptop can output tv through the VGA port (in your manual?), or go with what Agent recommends.

2011-10-01 22:15:00 | How about Netflx and other online TV's, should be allright? Yeah will be fine. You are likely to be limited on quality with those by your Internet connection speed anyway. Don't expect 1080p or anything out of it though!

2011-10-02 01:00:00 | [QUOTE=Agent_24;1051224]That one there is composite (Single yellow RCA plug) I assume sound comes through to the tv as well or is the sound via Laptop?
notechyet (4479) | ||
2011-10-02 01:57:00 | No, the sound goes in through the red and white sockets. Generally you will need a 3.5mm phono to RCA stereo cable such as this: www.amazon.co.uk One end would plug into the laptop's headphone\output jack and the other into the TV.

2011-10-02 09:05:00 | Try these guys, I purchased a cable from them some years ago, it cost me a bomb, but the only other outfit doing them at the time I think imported them from China and copied their pics, which didn't fill me with much hope! They were US made, and variable lengths, variable sockets, pretty much to order. www.svideo.com and pic is here ep.yimg.com
