1208855 2011-06-14 00:36:00 I've been using Acronis True Image for several years and have found it excellent. If you have a Windows computer and you don't use imaging software you're a mug.

For those who are too miserly to shell out for Acronis True Image, there are alternatives. Paragon have released a free-for-home-use version which is quite good although not as intuitive as Acronis.

I've elaborated on the best free and paid alternatives here (www.mistywindow.com).

1208857 2011-06-29 05:51:00 I use W7 because it's free :D
Really, I just need one image from date of system build and then one other as time goes on ..... I don't load images that often :p I prefer to use my computer as a tool.

Well ... compared to the older days, Norton Ghost really did offer a lot of compression like it takes half the space. Windows I think only takes off 20%.

With W7 you need to rename the folder before you make another image or else it would overwrite it.

:)

Just don't use it often enough.
Once every few yrs maybe :D

But Paragon is only free to 32bit I think. The 64bit might of been free for a while, but that was only temporarily via a download.
