4302 / 11 = That about ~322 after tax...

and that's why they wont be looking for a job....ever
Compulsory work for the dole:after 6months, is the only way to sort it
even if its 3 days a week sweeping the street.

1208748 2011-06-13 05:05:00 So just to clarify, its less than that then?

I agree, get them a broom. Once a month, buy them a new one. If it breaks, they have to use their forearms to sweep. Sorted!

1208749 2011-06-13 10:28:00 so if a working couple have many children, they could just resign, wait the whatever stand down period and be financially better off  Nomad (952)

I don't think so. It's not a fixed amount per kid, it goes down rapidly for each extra.
Plus - you are (supposed to) spend the money on the kids needs.

1208751 2011-06-13 22:26:00 Yes, I know a couple on a reasonable income. They get "working for families" $$ they dont need (my words). It goes towards holidays(their words) 1101 (13337)
1208752 2011-06-13 23:13:00 Working for families isn't a benefit its a refund on your tax. You cant receive more then you would have paid (as far as I'm aware though it could be I just made that fact up)

As much as I think its a bureaucratic nightmare (Labour sucks arse) I don't believe its the governments role to screw people over in the pursuit of tax.

I'm on a reasonable income, we "receive" working for families and every cent is sucked into the budget.

No wonder they don't want to work

Six of those ten are South Auckland. And South Aucklanders wonder why South Auckland has a bad rep. :stare: :groan:
