| 1236707 | 2011-10-11 03:29:00 | After having problems with FF6 and FF7 as detailed in previous posts, I have been having similar problems with Chrome. Lock-ups, and problems with supposedly corrupt profile etc etc. Perhaps the problem then lies within Windows rather than the browsers. I have tried repairing Windows from my original disk and it seems I have a couple of corrupt files, which it will not repair or overwrite as it says the version of Windows installed is later than that on the disk? Whether these files are the cause of the browser problems I don't know, but it seems a good starting point. Is there any way to check and repair these files other than from the disk? Any other suggestion would be most welcome. I'm using XP SP3 Tried using IE8 and had no problems, but boy, is it slowwwwwww!! |
