1236515 2011-10-10 02:23:00 Hi All.

Pc is XP Home SP3. Cell phone is Samsung E3210B.

I have taken some photos that I want to put in My Pictures. Have connected the two together & the photos come up as videos, as video.0001.3gp, etc The comp asks for .3p program to read the photos. This is not in the list of pograms the computer offers. Tried a few & nowt.

Any ideas? TIA...PJ.

1236516 2011-10-10 02:32:00 You could try Irfanview or VLC. mikebartnz (21)
1236517 2011-10-10 02:36:00 Or if it came with a program, install it Speedy Gonzales (78)

1236520 2011-10-10 02:58:00 Yeah the .3GP files will open in VideoLAN Client. Try it again :) Chilling_Silence (9)
1236521 2011-10-10 03:20:00 OK. Have tried VLC again & the "Photos" I took have come out as Videos, 8 of them. So I made a mistake somewhere as they were supposed to be Still Pictures.

So Next.

How do I get the videos off the screen into "My Videos" & get them as Stills so that I can email them? PJ

1236522 2011-10-10 03:28:00 Yeah .3gp indicates it's a video.
A picture from a phone is almost *always* a .jpg file.

You should be able to click on "Video" up the top, and then click on "Snapshot" to have it take a screenshot of the video at the current position. I believe this also works while the video is paused, so you can get the timing perfect.
IIRC the other Hotkey was Ctrl + Shift + S

1236523 2011-10-10 03:41:00 Computer locked up had to sut it down. Will try later. Seems very complicated jst to get a photo!!!! PJ Poppa John (284)
1236524 2011-10-10 06:06:00 OK All sorted. I d/l VLC onto this laptop & worked at it. I stumbed & bumbled the two most important "Snapshots" into my Pictures & that will do.

I will have to take moe care next time I try taking a Cell Photo.

Thanks for the advice. PJ (+ 1 day)
