| 1236229 | 2011-10-07 22:41:00 | Looks like you can get that error, if the WU folder is corrupt. (answers.microsoft.com) Try this then try again 1. Click Start, Run, type: cmd and press Enter. Please run the following command in the opened window. net stop WuAuServ 2. Click Start, Run, type: %windir% and press Enter. 3. In the opened folder, rename the folder SoftwareDistribution to SDold. 4. Click Start, Run, type: cmd and press Enter. Please run the following command in the opened window. net start WuAuServ |

| 1236230 | 2011-10-07 22:52:00 | Did you download it Via windows update or by a standalone installer ? Several times I have had the web based (updates version) fail and had to use the standalone installer Available here (www.microsoft.com) |

| 1236231 | 2011-10-08 00:01:00 | Thank you folks I used speedy Gonzale's method and it worked - WordPress is now installed. Wainuitech - for your information I used both methods and neither worked. Thank you both for your prompt replies - it was appreciated. |

| 1236233 | 2011-10-08 00:51:00 | Corruption within the SoftwareDistribution folder is often the cause of windows updates not installing. Normally I would just delete the folder after stopping the services if there was a failure with the Web updates. Good that its going again. |
