2011-10-07 00:15:00 | Over the past few days, my computer has been resetting once or twice each day, So far it's only happened when I'm using firefox (latest version) Today though, it was a bsod and then a reset after the memory dump. The error code was 0x0000000116 which is apparantly something to do with the display adaptor? Could it just be firefox causing the problem? Nvidia drivers are also up to date. specs in my sig

2011-10-07 00:31:00 | Ha had my Wifes German intern here yesterday with her laptop as it had a trojan. removed AVG, ran malwarebytes which cleaned out 60 rootkits and 2 trojans, installed MSSE restarted MSSE tried updating instant blue screen. I can't read German so tried again same thing. Couldn't uninstall MSSE as it would only run in safe mode so did a restore to before the installation and put Avira on instead, running fine now. This was Vista home pre 32bit. Damn odd that a MS program killed an MS computer

2011-10-07 06:19:00 | Click on start, type in reli Open View reliability history - look at the times it has crashed, played up, there should be various error symbols at the time, click on them, and below it will tell you what happened -- these can sometime pin point "what crashed". dxgkrnl.sys is part of the graphics, so yeah it could be a driver problem, or some sort of software conflict. if it were vista theres a patch for that exact error, no idea if it would work in W7 though.

Done, it's saying video hardware error. I don't have another video card to test either :( |

2011-10-07 06:39:00 | Time ran out to edit -- BUT it can also be directX playing silly buggers -- Some more information to read (mechiwiki.com) -- try updating directX, but see what the reliability log says first. Edited: OUCH!! what does the "check for solution" mention (prob something stupid like failure - no friggin kidding :D )

2011-10-07 06:55:00 | Directx is up to date. I'm thinking of reformatting, then if it keeps happening, I'll look at claiming the warranty for the video card
