1209164 2011-06-14 02:47:00 Hello everybody ;)

I was thinking about moving in NZ, as everyone says its a paradise on earth, so i said why not. But the problem is that i´m studding to be a computer technician (repairing computers and installing nets) and i have no idea if there is any demand for the people of my profession. The Thing is that i could work in other places too but i really love computers...

any advice?

1209165 2011-06-14 02:51:00 What qualifications do you currently have?

Perhaps brush up your use of the language as well. Studding does not go down well here unless you are a builder maybe. :)

1209166 2011-06-14 03:03:00 no qualifications yet. i`ll wait until i get my certificates (including cisco) then i have a job opportunity here in madrid. I might not be fluent in English but I know enough. I also speak other languages. do I still got chances? :D chumscrubber (16416)
1209167 2011-06-14 03:06:00 Without any qualifications at all you would seem to have little chance of an IT job in New Zealand given our current unemployment rate. Snorkbox (15764)
1209168 2011-06-14 03:13:00 With qualifications you might have a chance, it's difficult to know though as most businesses if any do not reply if you write to them from overseas. The only real thing you could do is come here for a holiday and then go cold calling. Be warned though that you might not like NZ as it is quite remote from the rest of the world, it is not cheap easy travel like it is in Europe gary67 (56)
1209169 2011-06-14 03:19:00 Qualification is not a problem, i will get a job (in Orange) as soon as i finish. I wanted to know if IT´s are still needed somewhere else :D

I know, i have a friend from Wellington, and as she described me, it really seemed like paradise:) I´m fed of Europe. I want to live in a place as remote as possible (with wifi of course ) for a year at least and your country suits me perfectly i think :)

1209170 2011-06-14 03:32:00 only my view.

yes you need to be here to apply for jobs, they just don't reply to you. but i'm still wondering that if you have no work permit, many may not want to work thru the process.

also that people i know who started in IT with certs etc., and with a uni degree had their first job in helpdesk. i don't imagine it would be easy getting a tech role first up.
