1209131 2011-06-14 01:10:00 Found this today. Chrome/Opera version (www.multiupload.com) and Firefox/IE version. (flatmo1.deviantart.com)

To use it, you'll need to download and extract its files somewhere on your hard drive for safekeeping. Point your browser at the index.html file in Eight's folder as your home page, and you're good to go. (That means going into your browser's preferences and setting the home page to C:\Users\Me\Documents\Eight\index.htm, or if you're on Chrome, file:///C:/Users/Me/Documents/Eight/index.htm). To edit the shortcuts, you'll need to edit the source.js file, pasting in the links you want in place of the defaults. You can also change the tile logos by putting them in the thumbs folder. The sketch.jpg folder shows you where each thumbnail goes on the page, and how big it should be.

1209132 2011-06-14 01:40:00 Mean :D

Didn't work for me though, wasn't happy. Would show the background tiles but not the images / logo's to overlay, and nothing was clickable :(

1209134 2011-06-14 02:26:00 Haha you can tell I was in a rush. Thanks for that, works in IE.
Could only get the one from deviantart, all the other file sharing sites are blocked here at work :(

1209135 2011-06-14 02:27:00 Interesting, but I'm not enamoured ("enamored" for SJ) of the WinPhone 7 type-tile interface.

If that's the interface being delivered in Win8, then I can't see a lot of corporates/businesses 'upgrading' to Win8. It's more targetted at the trendy home-user (with a tablet/touch screen) than a business.

1209136 2011-06-14 04:10:00 I dunno, it's a nice simplification, plus the 'power users' will be apparently able to revert to a Win7-style interface. For many people, having everything "just there" is a nice way of doing it. That's partly why the iPhone / Android are so successful.

Less and less is being done "in the OS" and more and more is being done "in the browser" or from within applications, so I don't see it being a huge deal personally. Maybe my sentiments will change once I've actually used it, right now it's all purely speculation, but I like that Microsoft have supposedly done the interface all in a combination of HTML5 + Javascript :)

1209137 2011-06-14 04:27:00 Spent another hour browsing deviantART and now my desktop looks like this (www.imagef1.net.nz) :D

Now, back to studying before I get even more side tracked!

1209138 2011-06-14 04:36:00 I don't want a Faeces Book or a Twatter icon on my desktop
