There'd have to be greater structural members taking up the viewspace, and without decent insulation (which would ruin the view) it'd be freezing cold when blasting along at altitude. With more and more emphasis having to go on fuel efficiency we'll likely see a transition to materials that give the best srtength for weight ratio, rather than gimmicks like transparency. And then there's lightening strikes... would you rather be inside a metal shell, a carbon fibre body, or a transparent body when there's lightening. But hell, it'd look great! Oh, and crack propogation... at least you could see the failing parts of a transparent fuselage... so maybe there is a place for this! |

| 1209025 | 2011-06-14 02:30:00 | It is more likely to occur than a lot of their other ideas. The European taxpayers will gladly back this idea, maybe almost as enthusiastically as they coughed up for a few concords as free give-aways. | R2x1 (4628) | ||
