1208968 2011-06-13 11:39:00 Hooked the LED strip up to the ignition key light circuit, with a relay.

Only wired in the drivers side so far, but I reckon it looks pretty damn cool!

They go on and off with the ignition key light - so the moment the key is turned past acc to on, the lights go off. When the door is opened, the lights stay on for 1 min I think it is, and if the door is shut but the car not turned on, I think they stay on for 30 secs.

I used these (www.trademe.co.nz) LEDs, very good for the price.

Here's a few rubbish cellphone pics if anyone's interested. :p

1208974 2011-06-14 00:38:00 You should try being stuck at home recovering from shoulder surgery, I can type quite well one handed now. Although I can use my right arm a bit now gary67 (56)
1208975 2011-06-14 01:11:00 *not that I'm complaining, mind. ;)

How long do the docs reckon it will be until you have normal (or whatever will be normal) use back in the shoulder?

1208976 2011-06-14 01:57:00 Hope to find out on the 23. I won't be able to go back to my old job though, so will be looking for something a bit easier on the joints once I get the all clear gary67 (56)
1208977 2011-06-14 02:21:00 Hi Wratterus

What a great project. I've got a dark blue Mazda 626. Reckon this idea would look cool in my car too, and hey, thanks for the link.
