1209651 2011-06-16 05:22:00 OK ... new STB and Freeview going nicely. Opened the box up (old STB) and had a look but nothing obvious ... mind you ... NASA wouldn't give any time with the Hubble so couldn't make much out ... even with my best pair of specs on !!

Sent the wife into get the new STB and she comes back with it OK ... but the sales guy said she'd better have an HDMI cable so it gets a better picture (Tui ad here) $125 for the STB ... $80 for the cable.

Got my own HDMI cable thank you very much .... will return tomorrow after punishing the wife appropriately tonight ...

1209652 2011-06-16 05:27:00 My setup is much easier
If the input on the TV has been changed, press "HDMI 1" to get to TiVo
Then, use the TiVo remote.
One cable goes to TiVo (The antenna), and one goes out of it (HDMI to TV).

;)

Yes, your setup may be simpler in terms of cables, but not so simple in terms of having to do a deal with the devil Chill! My setup is way cheaper too!

1209653 2011-06-16 05:42:00 Probably a bit late here, but a few weeks ago a mate's freeview (DVB-S) lost TV1. A rescan bought it back. wratterus (105)
1209654 2011-06-16 05:43:00 Stuff paying $80 for a HDMI cable! I only paid $15 for this one. Speedy Gonzales (78)
1209655 2011-06-16 05:50:00 Yeah ... but Speedy ... you haven't got the special gold plated plug ... soft rubber insulation ... or the easy grip plug for easy removal ...

Neither will I tomorrow !

1209656 2011-06-16 05:55:00 wratterus ... it scans OK but the problem seems to be that it's not storing the the stations. Next Electronics were the service agents but they're down the gurgler and it would probably cost more to fix than replace. SP8's (9836)
1209657 2011-06-16 05:55:00 lol just as long as it works, I dont care. If it was made of wood and worked, I would still buy it. Its only going from the Xbox to this. All, I have to do is go behind either and pull it out Speedy Gonzales (78)

1209659 2011-06-16 11:19:00 HDMI is digital, all cables are *effectively* the same.
