1235821 2011-10-07 06:32:00 I want to install Windows7 but I cannot do so because the drivers are unavailable for Video Card, Network Card and Sound Card. Any suggestions where I can find drivers for these hardwares? mdRASHIDkhi (16580)
1235822 2011-10-07 06:33:00 I would check device manager and see if the hard drive is running in PIO mode. Look under IDE ATA / Atapi controller. Double click on primary and secondary IDE channel. Then click on advanced settings. Does it say DMA or PIO here? Windows 7 should install sound and network drivers for most systems. And will install default video drivers. Its got a lot more drivers in it, than XP. Whats the specs of this computer? Speedy Gonzales (78)
1235823 2011-10-07 06:41:00 It says "DMO if available".
Video Card: ATI RADEON XPRESS 200 Series
Network Card: Broadcom NetXtreme Gigabit Ethernet
Sound Card: Realtek AC'97 Audio

But I request you to further guide me about solving the problem of slow startup, please. I've decided now to format the C partition and reinstall WindowsXP. Would you encourage to do that?

1235824 2011-10-07 06:45:00 What does it say under if DMA is available DMA xx or PIO mode? You can reformat if you want.Just make sure you've got the drivers (like network card drivers) before you format. Or it wont get on the internet Speedy Gonzales (78)
1235825 2011-10-07 06:48:00 If you wanted the drivers for the network card Click this link (www.broadcom.com) All versions from Xp to W7 and more.

The rest of the drivers it "should" pick up automatically.

Will be the reason why its slow. What IDE devices are in the case?? hdd and CD/DVD?? Or more? If theyre (IDE) and on the same IDE connection, are they jumpered properly?

1235828 2011-10-07 06:55:00 Is this a Laptop or desktop Computer ? wainuitech (129)
1235829 2011-10-07 07:02:00 I couldn't get you! I am using a desktop PC with one hard drive and a DVD/RW device. mdRASHIDkhi (16580)
1235830 2011-10-07 07:12:00 if you decide to install W7 and it doesn't pickup the drivers for graphics, the default Vista Legacy drivers may work links in post number 7 Here (www.sevenforums.com) The ATI Radeon Xpress Series is listed.

Edited: the reason I asked if it were a Laptop or desktop is the same card is listed in some laptops. :)
