| 1209367 | 2011-06-15 11:18:00 | You can get a VHF/UHF mixer that puts both signals down a single cable. Check out DSE part# DSNZ_L4663 | Greven (91) | ||
| 1209368 | 2011-06-15 12:03:00 | I bought a UHF aerial a few years ago from DSE for $99 (Someone mentioned now half price). Ran the lead down to under the house to a splitter box and then from this ran four leads to different rooms. Have 3 TV's. 2 on freeview 1 analog. All very strong signals. Live in Papakura. |

| 1209370 | 2011-06-16 00:00:00 | I could be wrong, but I believe there's a polarity issue with the transmission and aerials - ie it depends whether the aerial gets mounted with it's 'array' in a horizontal or vertical orientation - get it wrong and the signal strength will seem to suffer. The only challenge I've found with fooling around with aerial mountings is a) the risk of falling off the roof, and b) dealing with old, pre-existing rusted mounting bolts. |

| 1209371 | 2011-06-16 01:18:00 | I took some shots on my digital camera :D The house up the hill above us has a 23 element aerial. However the house across from us has a Phased Array aerial - the square ones. Two houses up our road has a 91 element. We are like in a valley with hills around us. If we were up the hill it might be a different story. Ps. I might not need a mixer. Might just flogg off the VHF. Interested to know if anyone who cannot get Freeview HD in the main cities and need to resort to satelitte? Anyone know why UHF is more picky with reception than VHF? Or are UHF and VHF the same in this regard? :thanks |
