| 1209288 | 2011-06-14 11:57:00 | One of the reasons I support a 20% flat tax. With no other deductions allowed. I am a firm believer in the K.I.S.S. principle, especially when it come to tax - which everyone in their right mind hates paying. | johcar (6283) | ||

LL I think we have established elsewhere that darkstar09 is a youngster From www.whatstax.govt.nz Tax credits for children (formerly child rebate) You can get this tax credit if you are earning income and, are at any time during the income year: under 15 under 19 and still at school. You can claim the under 19 tax credit for children if you have turned 18 on or after 1 January in the previous income year. Note: You can't get the tax credit for children if: you're under 19, and studying at a tertiary institution your only income was from interest and/or dividends. |

| 1209296 | 2011-06-15 04:59:00 | If you register for online services with IRD you can fill in an IR3. You do not need a hard copy or a DNL as stated by Johcar. You do for a GST return but not an IR3. It is really simple and I find it hard to understand why anyone would pay someone else to do it. Before you start you need to know your gross earnings and how much PAYE you have paid. Then just fill out the form online and if you provide an account number your refund is paid into the bank in short order. You fill out the form as a draft so if you do not like what it says you do not have to submit it to IRD unless you are self employed. PAYE payers do not have to submit a return unless they have income in addition to normal PAYE deducted wages. | CliveM (6007) | ||
