| 1209030 | 2011-06-14 12:05:00 | They need to get away from the conventional aircraft body shape first.. How about a Flying Saucer?? Fixed that for you, Paul... :) This is right up there with flying cars that we supposed to all have ten years ago. I think this is someone's 'flight of fancy' (pun intended), dreamt up when they had eaten a particularly potent 'mushroom' with their steak dinner.... |

| 1209031 | 2011-06-14 23:40:00 | What if there's a brilliantly-big solar flare and CME midflight (Carrington Super Flare anyone?) Unless the plane's made of boron glass everyone'll be xrayed/microwaved/very sunburnt! | mookster1 (15854) | ||
| 1209032 | 2011-06-14 23:42:00 | The general concept will not fly Can see Aircraft with maybe a observation Deck that looks similar to Airbuses concept There would be a high annoyance factor,no one would like to bathed in sunshine/high UV all the time No one would be like to be bathed in a full time Lightning storm |

Unless the plane's made of boron glass everyone'll be xrayed/microwaved/very sunburnt! Are you saying that you think that a thin skin of aluminium ("aluminum" for SJ), as we currently have, is sufficient to shield people from this radiation? Admittedly, it is difficult to get a suntan through aluminium.... |

| 1209037 | 2011-06-15 02:37:00 | Please explain why. To me it is to Radical,no problem with it actually flying but as pointed out UV/Sunlight when most don't want to bathed in direct sunlight and thunderstorms. As most know probably 80% of people are not fully comfortable with flight and show to much of what's going on outside would contribute to their Anxiety |

As prefect says they will have something to shade the sunlight out. I think it would be rather interesting in a thunderstorm. Those that don't feel comfortable fly don't have to fly in it. |
