1235701 2011-10-06 20:54:00 When I go to Start/Turn off computer and then click on Turn off nothing happens until I repeat the operation. How do I get it back to the normal Turn Off operation? Krad (7878)

1235704 2011-10-08 07:18:00 Could be a program that doesn't want to shut down. Check Task Manager before shutting down to see whats running. PPp (9511)
1235705 2011-10-08 07:20:00 And install this if it hasnt been installed (www.microsoft.com) Speedy Gonzales (78)
1235706 2011-10-09 04:04:00 Nice one Speedy. I tried it even though I did not have shutdown problems, and it has sped up shutdown and startup considerably. Being a beekeeper I am ashamed to say I had a dirty hive (and didn't know). PPp (9511)
1235707 2011-10-09 20:40:00 That file may stop programs from "hanging" when you select shut down. And as the link says On Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 either event ids 1517 and 1524 indicate the same profile unload problem. If you see this in event viewer, this should help Speedy Gonzales (78)
