| 1208915 | 2011-06-13 08:29:00 | Quick question. I know the following, from the NZTA website (www.nzta.govt.nz). If a trailer is more than 2m wide, there must be a pair of forward facing lights to show how wide the trailer is, these can be white or amber. My preference for these is amber LEDs - Check. It must have a pair of red rear facing lights (tail and brake) and a pair of red rear facing reflectors, white number plate light and amber indicators - Check. All in one sealed LED unit. You can have up to two pairs of rear facing lights - I'm going to put lights on the rear of the guards as well as the front, I always assumed these lights must be red, but I can't find anywhere on the LTSA site that says this. Does anyone know for sure if all rear facing lights except the indicators must be red, or is amber ok too? I would normally just get red LEDs, but have an extra pair of amber ones lying around. Thanks. |

They're (LTSA) are going back to the "old" rules ... just watch out ... the next thing you're going to need is a purple forward facing lamp on the middle of the roof to warn oncoming traffic (at night) that you are towing something. circa 1950's-60's | SP8's (9836) | ||

| 1208918 | 2011-06-13 09:22:00 | Sorry pcuser .... think the question was between red & amber ... reversing lights never came up when discussing the second set of lights on the guards... pedantic prickle  | SP8's (9836) | ||
