| 1462461 | 2019-07-17 06:29:00 | my mouse was clicking perfectly fine when suddenly the left mous button stopped making a click sound. the right one works fine still. The clicks are rehistering but it no longer makes a sound. the mouse is pretty old but reliable. i wish for the sound to be restored but dont know how to fix it! | lovan (17678) | ||
| 1462462 | 2019-07-17 08:50:00 | This is typical of an old mouse. Over time the switches wear out, and the thin metal plate which acts as a spring starts to lose its springiness (often heralds a small crack in the metal - metal fatigue). You might find if you lift the edge of the button you get the click back... until your next press. Cleaning around the button, and if you're keen enough, cleaning around the switch internally, or adding a tiny bit of very thin lube (like CRC / WD40) might temporarily restore your click, but ultimately you're likely to need a new mouse sooner or later. The switches can be prized open, although it's a fidly task to get the plate out, cleaned and correctly re-seated, but this nearly always gives the best result (if you don't bust somethin in the process). |

| 1462463 | 2019-07-17 10:46:00 | Did the click sound come from the computer speaker or was it just the mouse switch making a clicking sound when you press it? | zqwerty (97) | ||
| 1462464 | 2019-07-17 22:00:00 | buy a clicker and tape it to that button take your mouse to a PC Repair shop and have it rebuilt (will cost around $90) make the sound by snapping the fingers on your other hand in software, bind the mouse button to a clicking wav and have it come out of the speakers buy another mouse, cut off the cable, glue it to that button and press through both mice, giving you the click in software, switch the left & right buttons . Now use the good right button insted or the silliest of all suggestions spend $15. Buy a new mouse :) |
