1462187 2019-07-08 06:24:00 Hi guys.
SWMBO has a dual sim OPPO phone and wants a specific ringtone private calls. Found what she wants and it is a free download (supposedly mp3)so I download it and it asks if I want to open it or save it so I choose save it and it saves it as m4r.

When I get the "Choose to open or save" it tells me that the file is an m4r.
This happens in both FF and IE.
The phone doesn't recognise m4r and neither does anything else that I can convert it with.
The phone also recognises ogg
Why is it changing the file type, and how do I get it to save as mp3 or ogg
Hope this makes sense

1462188 2019-07-08 06:33:00 A file with the M4R file extension is an iTunes Ringtone file.
Custom iTunes Ringtone files in the M4R format are actually just .M4A files that have been renamed to .M4R

M4R files can be opened with Apple's iTunes program. M4R files that aren't copy protected can be opened using the free VLC software and probably some other media players.

If you want to listen to the M4R ringtone with a different program, try renaming the .M4R extension to .MP3 before you open it.
