ANYONE coming into NZ has to self isolate for 14 days now, doesn't matter where they come from, there are a few minor exceptions, as spelled out in the video. I've watched numerous border TV shows where Asians who don't give a sh1t about anyone but themselves try to bring prohibited items in to the country. And we think they're gonna self-isolate? Crap. Well actually the government CAN enforce it. www.legislation.govt.nz (www.legislation.govt.nz wdc1sGXAKtrzLpYYd4ij-AKM4mz28#DLM307082) Its a bit of a long read, but as the person who posted the above link wrote in short The government can require you to report to medical centers, quarantine you to a location or building, they can enter your home without your permission, requisition your house, boat or car, turn your house into a morgue. If you refuse or attempt to interfere you can be arrested and charged or imprisoned. If you're not a resident you can be deported. The government has plenty of measures to enforce this. |

And adding to that some of the islands have already Banned incoming flights and cruise ships so people may be able to leave but not enter. Over the next month, the Cook Islands and Samoa also banned cruise ships. Other Pacific islands allowed ships but certain passengers were not permitted in the port. Fiji, Vanuatu, Indonesia (including Bali), Micronesia, Australia and New Zealand are among the destinations denying entry to select visitors. |
