1465751 2020-01-03 19:54:00 Oh for sure, just like the hells angels and other white gangs represent all of us yeah.
This we're better than them attitude is straight out text book racism. .

Yep, I knew that would be the response.
Never mind my friend the IT lady at Akld Uni, earns good money, no crime, no gangs, no anything except a normal working citizen.
Or my sons friends, all in good jobs, one who is now doing accountancy at the mines in Perth just recently, left his bank manager job for it...
My boss at a large commercial insurance co.....I could go on....

No, just point to the few who are the dregs as the majority.

I have met quite a few white people who are scum too, shall we decide all pakeha are rubbish too then?

And, I now live next to the dregs, well a family home of them anyway. MM.
Her now mows our berm for us, no idea why, she just started to do it and does it every couple of weeks now.
Helpful, perhaps? Some of them stop as they walk past and ask if we need a hand with things...like when we built the gate.

There was one party drama when we first came here, and since then nothing at all.

You would now think it's an ordinary neighbour house. Not even xmas day, or new years either. Which you would have expected....
Silence, they garden, they mow lawns, put the rubbish out, do house maintenance. As they own the place...

If it wasn't for the visitors with the jackets you couldn't tell.

1465753 2020-01-03 22:34:00 I cannot see how this thread which started off as a discusion about the merit of forcing the Maori language to take over everything appears to have evolved into a race hate one.
People are people no matter what their ethnic background. Most of them are just fine but some are definately not.

1465754 2020-01-03 23:22:00 I look it another way,. If in time machine you could show our WW2 soldiers overseas North Africa Greece and Italy the makeup of NZ now what would they think. I am pretty sure they would throw their .303s away and demand to go home. prefect (6291)

1465756 2020-01-04 02:27:00 Actually Prefect they were there fighting Nazis, or what are now called White Supremacists. A fancy term for racists.
And many of those soldiers were maori.

1465757 2020-01-04 04:05:00 I pulled out the local council rubbish collection calendar and notice this year that the months are in Maori / English this year. Guess someone at the council got a big promotion for this as well as we paid a consultant lots of money to come up with it.

Corrected :p

And, of course, you realise that Aotearoa is not the maori name for NZ. It is just a made up name.

1465759 2020-01-04 04:43:00 Really, are you sure?

Have a read of THIS (www.celticnz.co.nz)

I had a copy of this book, and foolishly lent it to a "friend" for research purposes ... said friend subsequently denied ever having received it

The major points from this work that I recollect and come to mind are:

1) Early settlers in Northland (especially near the Waipoua forest, and Dargaville) reported coming across many (as in tens of thousands) skeletons interred, hidden in caves, or ritually displayed in trees. They were also thought to be victims of some ritual slaying evidenced by identical blows to the head.

2) These skeletons were initlally thought to be be those of children due to the average height being around 1.2m (4'0"), but subsequently revised to be representative of a race of much smaller adults.

3) The skeletons were later shown to be not of Maori descent, the skeletal structure of the jaw being not of the Polynesian "rocker" mechanism but of a more Causcasian like structure.

4) The settlers asked the Governor of the day how they should dispose of the skeletons, and the Governor asked local iwi for their thoughts.

5) Local iwi said in essence, they didn't care: they had no ancestral claim to the skeletons anyway.

6) The Governor decided these tens of thousands of skeletal remains should be transported to Onehunga by barge and then ground into bone dust as fertiliser. (Pragmatsim was evidentally the order of the day)

7) In one of the earliest recorded forms of bureaucracy in Godszone, the removal of these skeletal remains were identifed and carefully recorded.

These records survive intact to this day, as they were recorded in the New Zealand Gazette.

The embargo referred to by BM seems to have been instituted so that the impact of the embargo would not have any impact on any person alive at the time the embargo was instituted.

If anybody has an opportunity to read the book, do so. The claims it makes (some of which are itemised above), are borne out by they are backed by entries in the New Zelaand Gazette ... the official diary of the nation.
