1461602	2019-06-22 00:08:00	Just a thought -- When I put in Graphic Drivers from whom ever I usually only put in the required drivers to make it work. leave out all the extra bells and whistles, that way if there are any problems with the drivers you know. Maybe a Format and start from fresh install W10 Pro x64 v1903 on my Force 300 M.2. I been using Nvidia for 10-15 year prior to getting the Ryzen 5 2400G APU. cheers. ohh,,,ps: I installed VLC player last night and at the end of iy I had Norton Security stamp aver Defender and start to Run the Show...and Win Zip...both 30 day trials.... I got them without being offered to decline them. That teach me to get VLC from SourceForce and not official VLC Site. I removed Norton today...id was so hard to get out of the computer! Did NOT want to leave I used Revo Pro to remove it and it uninstalled and wouldn't let me do the scan for leftovers because a Restart was needed to complete the uninstall…. when it restarted it was just a blue screen with W10 Logo and spinning circle of dots with words saying "Restating" …...that went on for 45 minutes! 1461604	2019-06-22 23:57:00	Most of those downloads should have a advanced or custom install option. ALWAYS use that, you never know what crap is installed as extras. NOT the Recommended. Just downloaded VLC from Source forge and installed it on a test PC - Its clean. The Norton and winzip didn't appear to come from that. It is a long way out of date from Sourceforge, they are putting out 2.2 whereas VLC is actually 3.0.7.1 Maybe a Format and start from fresh install W10 Pro x64 v1903 on my Force 300 M.2. 1101 suggested that back in post #4. What you can do is wipe the drive completely, ( all partitions -everything) DONT have ANYTHING from any other install, dont use previous drivers. Install fresh. Install the drivers ONLY from the manufactures site, this means motherboard and Graphics Card, and for the graphics, only what required not all the extras. If ATI are like others they will have Norton, possibly winzip bundled ( gigabyte motherboard CD default install does have Norton Trial). At this point assuming its stable. Image the drive to some external source. Image the drive either by windows own imaging inbuilt OR a bootable CD/USB drive with the software. The reason for this is if it plays up again you have a clean base to put back without spending hours downloading /reinstalling. ( I got that on my workshop PC's) The insider PC's I image always before a new version comes out that way if somethings wrong I can quickly put back the previous. My Office PC gets backed up/imaged daily, (automatically) for the same reason as well if there's a hardware failure. Once you have a image then one at a time install what ever-- DONT go installing software that claims to speed things up or keep an eye on out of date drivers - they are OFTEN the cause of the problems and source of Malware /unwanted installs. Story: One guy I built a new gaming PC for a few years back, under a week he had corrupted the Computer with crap, wasn't covered under warranty as being an idiot is not included ;) After the 2nd reinstall in three weeks ( same causes each time) I Imaged the drive as I put above, so the next times( s) and there was, It was a quick case to put it right. Finally after a few reinstall it was discovered the very game he was wanting to play was the cause of all the problems. (cant remember what it was).	wainuitech (129)
1461605	2019-06-24 01:57:00	wainuitech, hi . All done now, apart from installing the Windows updates I am downloading and installing now . When 1101 suggested I make a 'Test' system I thought he meant to create another W10 on a different HDD to use as a Test device to see where I get errors installing Drivers etc . My comprehension must be out to lunch at times . Have to restart . . . bbs Cor blimey . . . . 1 hour later I am back to usable Desktop . Had restarts and sitting looking at blue screen and spinning circle of dots for about 10 minutes for each of the 5 updates . . at the end of which presented me with a BSOD: IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUALL Restarted itself and had the "Working on Updates screen . . reached 100%, opened to Log in Window, entered my PIN then got hit with these BSOD's one after the other after each restart from the last: KMode exception not handled Automatic Repair > Diagnosing PC > Attempting Repairs Restarted and Logged in with PIN . BSOD: PC did not start correctly > Restart/Advanced Options . Took the low road and clicked Restart and PC Opened to enter PIN . Open to Windows, Received notification read "Removed some updates . . . . " Link is here . microsoft . com/en-nz/help/4492307/windows-10-startup-failure-removed-recently-installed-updates" target="_blank">support . microsoft . com I tried to install the W10 Pro x64 v1903 May release from the DVD I made from DL official Version from MS and it would NOT install to the Corsair Force MP300 M . 2 NVMe SSD on which there was a the W10 I had . Thought Install would remove the existing W10 and install Fresh version . Reason stated was "Cannot install because UEFI needs GPT . W10 installed to the MP300 SSD as MBR when I first installed v1803 and upped to 1809 and then upgraded to 1903 . Now it wanted a GPT . So, I shut down and booted into the W10 I had on the 160 GB HDD and used Elevated CMD commands Diskpart > list disk >select disk 'x' > clean > convert gpt > exit . Job done, rebooted and Install W10 started>completed . Yay! :D So now it seems to be OK . . . hope it stays this way :D Last night I used Asus EZFlash3 and I updated the BIOS to the latest version 1607 - AMD AGESA Combo AM4 1 . 0 . 0 . 2 . . date 06/17/2019 . After failed attempts and BSOD's for changing RAM Speed from 2400Mhz to its listed 2933Mhz and 2866Mhz I have it stable at 2800Mhz which is 400Mhz improvement :D Oki doki . . . . that's it for now I guess . I have a clean slate to write on . Lets see how long before I get expelled from Class . I have the correct Driver for for the Radeon Sapphire Nitro+ RX580 and will install it later . . . maybe after I go buy the Viewsonic Monitor tomorrow . $600 Monitor available new for $299 . Eset Security . . . I have been using the 30 Day trial of Eset Internet Security and am considering getting it Licensed . Because I am using Windows Defender Firewall, do I need the Full Eset IS app or can I just get the Eset AV? I noticed that Eset IS trial is NOT disabling Windows Defender as I have read is meant to happen if 3rd Party Software is used . Well it shows as disabled when I go looksee, but something Called Safe Search or something like that was coming up and preventing my going to sites, which I mentioned earlier . I can handle that . Because its simpler & less likely to screw things up . Its pretty rare for Nod32 AV to cause any issues , Ive installed that on plenty of PC's . Just a personal bias after seeing how bad other brands of Security Suites are :-) Some brands of security suites try & cram in too much un-needed ~stuff~	1101 (13337)

1461609	2019-06-24 04:03:00	1101, hi. Yep fresh install System. Only apps installed are VLC and CPUID CPU-Z 1.89. I have the MS Driver for the AMD 2400G APU ( AMD Radeon RX Vega 11 Graphics). Only have Edge as browser. That's it...apart from the few Windows update I now have. I had BSOD again 5 minutes ago...same error: IRQL LESS OR NOT EQUAL...………… after it restarts all is ok again. I await the next Bluey :D Thanks for the heads up on the AV. Yeah I think I just go Eset AV...I just DL'd Eset Nod32 AV, 30 day trial. I will get the License a bit later in the day...$39.99...USA $$$ so it will be approx. $NZ60.00.. 1461610	2019-06-24 04:14:00	I forgot to mention I updated the Mobo BIOS to latest version last night and managed to get Stable RAM Speed up from 2400Mhz to 2800Mhz. It is 2933Mhz Capable AND...in the past 5- minutes the PC Has BSOD'd twice in succession after it restarts and I log in and open Edge to come here to PF1..
