1466817	2020-02-21 09:48:00	These are replacements, I usually get funding because I need them for work, ( Enable funding ) and I need to pay a huge amount for fitting and paper crap i guess. to jump through hoops to get em I guess. But a few weeks before xmas, I lost my hearing aids.... we believe my 2 year old grandaughter took it walkies and most likely flushed it down the toilet...that is her latest trick with a lot of things, that and blocking up the toilet and sinks being her other trick :o So insurance paid for these ones, it only cost me the insurance excess.... Same brand, just 5 years newer and I believe these ones suck badly, effecting my work and home life to the point I wonder why I wear them some days.........:o a waste of $11,000 if ya ask me currently.......... top of the line useless. but I will be going back for the 4th visit next week. not the best excess ive paid to get something so frustrating...... like that joke, new model what kind 12:30 :o	beetle (243)

1466819	2020-02-21 19:38:00	I think mine cost $2500 per side, and there was a government subsidy of $500 per side, so the whole bill was $4000 including all testing, consultations and an annual checkup. The government subsidy can be repeated every 5 years I think.	John H (8)
1466820	2020-02-21 21:11:00	Beetle, get them to turn the volume down, with my Mum they always had it too loud because her hearing was quite bad at 94, sometimes Mum's pair would squeal with feedback because the volume was up so high, an $8000 pair on trial which in the end she didn't get as the vendor couldn't make them work to her satisfaction.	zqwerty (97)

Mine donnt squeal luckily, but litterally I just dont hear people in the same room any more, I cant even hear a child talk to me unless I am in their face when there is lots of noise. I can no longer have conversations in the car, too hard and frustrating. I cant anser a work phone. I feel like with them in I hear loud stuff, anoying stuff but the things I want to hear like the person next to me talking I cant and sometimes I feel like they are just blocking my ears from hearing if that makes sense? Many yelling matches and tears over these ones, Sometimes I hear better without them at all. but its not safe at work :( They are loud enough that when they pick up some sounds it hurts so I got them to turn them down, but now they dont hear well enough Oh and Im not sure I consider myself old.......... got a couple of decades to go before I can even think about retiring :D	beetle (243)

I don't know, I thought there was some funding thing...but not how much it covers. I went to a hearing aid specialist and he recommended that I pay $2,000 for a hearing aid. I told him that it was a rip off as the components were worth about $10. I bought one on TradeMe for $56, it has adjustable frequency and volume, and works well. I only use it when I really want listen to something.	mzee (3324)
