Has a 8 year old in church about 15 years ago reading the Easter verse "and Jesus can riding into Jerusalem on his Ass" which she read as "and Jesus can riding into Jerusalem on his Arse" |

The Britts even had a TV Comedy called "Bottom" I dont think the yanks find the word ass that funny at all. The britts and kiwis are more inclined to love toilet humor & and lowest denominator comedy. |

Other examples being they have a seemingly endless admiration for pie in the face 'humour', and also find the distress of the elderly funny with the "I've fallen and I can't get up" thing that they just keep hammering. What is funny about that? |

American humour is usually only displayed when somebody (off-camera) in front of the audience holds up a placard saying "laugh", "applause" etc. Ever notice how an American comedian oftens delivers the punch line then pauses momentarily before their audience realise they have to do something? That's why. It's staged and not spontaneous. But here's something away from the norm: just a few weeks ago on Britains Got Talent, there was an American black funny man, Preacher Lawson.
