| 1461686 | 2019-06-22 03:06:00 | In the past I have done this successfully with both my desktop and my now defunct lappy. I have just bought a new laptop (with Windows 10 Pro on it) and so far I have failed to remove the need for a sign-in. Now I am stuck with either my Microsoft login, or facial recognition... The facial recognition is working well, but why do I have to have it? Mostly my laptop is just used for Club Presentations and for when I am away on holiday. There is very little on it of interest to anyone else. So - some help would be appreciated to re-achieve this please? :) As always - TIA. |

Its a LOT easier if you don't let it connect to the internet when its asks first time (during 1st setup) Any -hows-- Change to a Local account. Follow the instructions on the following www.windowscentral.com When you get to set #8, if you want it to sign straight in with no password leave the password boxes empty. On rebooting it will take a few moments longer the first time till it figures out you dont need to sign in anymore :) |

I think I'd better take a break before I throw the new lappy at the wall... I usually do better than this. And perhaps as always, I was doing things in too much of a hurry :( |
