| 1238024 | 2011-10-17 07:19:00 | Hi there, Trying to sort a wee problem out for a friend..... They have an Acer Aspire 5520 laptop with Vista 32. The only problem is the wireless internet connection, which was working fine until the other night. I've had a look at it, and the computer doesn't detect the wireless card at all. It's not in Device Manager at all. I have updated the laptops chipset drivers, have checked bios etc. I have opened the laptop and the card is seated in there just fine. Any ideas? Is this a dead card, or something else? |

To fix it I shut it down, remove the charger, remove the battery, then hold the start (power on) button down for 30 seconds. Refit the battery and then 'power on'. Don't ask me why, but it works. May not work on the Aspire. | mzee (3324) | ||

| 1238031 | 2011-10-18 02:11:00 | Whoops....sorry. The laptop has a wireless on/off button. Pressing the button brings up a message "no wireless device" down the bottom of the screen, and makes no difference in the Device Manager. I have taken the card out and reseated it to make sure it was inserted correctly. I have tried everything...I guess the card must be dead? |

| 1238033 | 2011-10-18 02:54:00 | It's an internal card. It's an Atheros AR5007EG card. |
